Nina Romanenko - Singer, Guitarist, Songwriter
Nina Romanenko is a Connecticut singer, guitarist and songwriter who loves working with and performing for people of all ages. She's a former therapeutic recreation director and voice major with training in music therapy and has been part of bands like Mystery Train, No Soap Radio and East River Junction. She's appeared in venues including the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, Groton Sub Base, Cheney Hall and the Essex Eagle Festival and has opened for artists like, Danny and the Juniors, the Drifters, Tom Rush and Jeffrey Gaines. She currently performs solo, duo or with her band, The Quarry Cats or in projects with other artists. Nina donates her services to various causes such as women's issues, cancer research and Connecticut Veterans.
Quarry Cat Mike - Bass Guitarist
Mike Harrison began playing acoustic/electric bass guitar in 2004 and has since performed in venues including The Harriot Beecher Stowe Center, Mark Twain House, Cheney Hall and the CT Audubon Society's Eagle Festival. He is also a carpenter and former computer programmer. His moniker - the Quarry Cat - came from the many hours spent at an abandoned quarry harvesting stone for building paths and hill steps at his home where he's also built a boat and invented the handy Gig-Master.
Kent Aldrich - Lead Guitarist
Kent Aldrich is a favorite local singer, songwriter and guitarist who has performed at venues such as the CT Audubon Society, Cheney Hall, and regularly at Roaring Brook Nature Center to standing room only where he has also opened for Paul Geremia and Dave Van Ronk. Kent's CD of original songs, "Thanks For Asking", has received the highest reviews. He's an accomplished guitarist and instructor and Nina has been honored to be among his guitar students. He began playing lead guitar with the Quarry Cats in 2006 and helps with many of the arrangements of songs they do.
